Topic: Scrolling text in the Launchpad!

Releasing the BLS - Born Launchpad System
Create your own scrolling text sign with your launchpad!
It is easy!
1- Download and open Born Launchpad System.jar (You should keep it open while you want the launchpad to display the text)
Main

2- Open your browser and enter http://localhost:9666
web

3-Type your text and click the "Send to Launchpad!" button.

Controls:
You can control your scroll in the side buttons (sessions) on your launchpad!
Controls

*If you want to use the Exclamation Mark (!), use the symbol " ` " (without quotes and spaces)

Programmers are more than welcome to help me with the following "to do" list:

[  ] Add colors
[  ] Add more symbols
[  ] Create a nicer template for comander

Hope you enjoy!

**EDIT: Make sure you connect the launchpad before opening the jar!
***EDIT: Those who get the "a java exception had occurred" error, try uninstalling java and downloading it again from their website.

I keep getting "a java exception has occurred" when I open the .jar file. Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe there was a problem with the download, and the file came corrupted, so I would suggest to download it again.
If it doesn't work, what people in oracle say to do is:
"Please remove all versions of Java from the computer. Reboot, then grab Java 7 update 40 (64-bit) here,
http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp  "

If it still doesn't work and other users in the forum report the same issues I'll remake the BLS

Hope it works! Peace

Re: Scrolling text in the Launchpad!

I don't really understand how to start this program.

How do you start the program and get it working as I can't seem to find an exe or anything to start it up with, or do i need to compile it or something?

the jar file can be opened if you have java installed. (It works like a .exe). Once it is open, simply follow the instructions

Re: Scrolling text in the Launchpad!

Just a random question, could you program it to export a midi file that could play back in live? (If this is completely impossible then just ignore me I don't know anything about programming)

Just an idea!

It would be really awesome, but I think it would be very hard to accomplish this, since in my java application all I did was to create X lights for each letter. I have some friends who understand better than me about using java with MIDI, I may ask them later how would I do that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Re: Scrolling text in the Launchpad!

How did you manage to read the launchpad USB output?

I can't find a single article on it and your .jar is cluttered with a lot of unused files xP

Re: Scrolling text in the Launchpad!

I am interested in helping you work on this project. is there a git for it anywhere or am I going to have to de-compile it myself?
