There isn't a new firmware update for the Mini. What's it doing to make you want to update the firmware?

I can assist you with reloading the current firmware if need be, but typically you won't need to.

Re: Update firmware on Launchpad Mini

Hello!
I hope, even is old topic someone can help me with my case. Mate of mine bought second hand LaunchPad Mini.

Unfortunately for him, didn`t try it on spot and few days later he discover it`s not working.
After few tests moving the cable I discover is sometimes start briefly to light few buttons and that is. The USB port didn`t discover new device.
When open it PAD, straight forward was the answer why it not working - the mini USB plug was loose and it also manage to peal up the track end from the board..

Then, I decide to cut the USB cable and check which color where go:

With that problem solved, I solder on the tracks the cables and check for short circuit

After connecting it to the USB port of my PC it come first as message "unknown device connected..." with some error, but the PAD`s buttons get lighten up. In few plug-unplug state, there was no connection shown(or error) , but the lights still light in some random pattern for few secs and den either stay all on or dim all.
Sometimes, if you pull it for second and put right back, it make few columns of red light after that like green square (4 buttons in pattern) start moving down and then some of them dim out.. And that is..
From my fast check over the SMT32F103C8 diagram, see that pin 32 is USB Data- , and pin 33 is USB Data + When connected they stay around -0.12V, so for some reason the chip didn`t activate them. And so far I know that they must be switched ON by software instruction.
On the board it seems to be 6 pin per side stripe pattern so my bet is with that and FTD can be reprogrammed the chip and eventually to start again to work. Perhaps that is the RX / TX port or sort of serial communication pins..
So:
- question one: which pin is for what or shall I check again on the data sheet and try my lottery luck?
- question two: where can I get the original firmware in HEX / BIN format? If that is at all possible

Thanks for reading that!

Re: Update firmware on Launchpad Mini

hello, and thanks even to take look at my question.
So far after the post, I try my luck with straight question to the support of Novation Music for that HEX/BIN file but the answer was what I expect actually: "it`s company secret, so can`t be given. Try our representative in your country, and we do not encourage our clients to fix their units"..
And what I "discover" after the post:
- the six pins are some kind of serial communication(I presume for programming the chip itself)
- the chip need special bootloader to be present only then by instruction can pulled up the USB pins (in my case that been reset/damaged)
- is kind of possible to program the chip via Rx1/Tx1 pins using FTD chip on 3.3V  but for that to try I need again the full HEX file.
For now, that is more close to the "hit the road Jack" than "I`m alive" , but still any suggestion (despite bring it to service) options are welcome.
